Due to a high number of undeliverable addresses on PLL-SIS list, I am reposting the announcement below to Law-Lib. Please excuse the duplication. If you did not receive this post by PLL-SIS please visit the AALLNet to change your e-mail address on the AALL Directory at :

Many of you have begun receiving your Christmas catalogs in the mail. This was a great shock to me to realize that so many weeks had passed since our Anaheim annual meeting. After a short recuperation period, many of the Private Law Libraries SIS committees have leaped into the work of the Association.

Connie Dickson (cdickson@gdclaw.com) reports that the PLL Education Committee for Washington D.C. 1999 was notified that nine PLL proposals were accepted by the AMPSC. See her report below:

The AALL Selection Committee chose the following proposals for 1999:
Getting the Client to Value Research
(this has been earmarked for the Sunday PLL program)
  Collaborative Knowledge Sharing
  Crossing the Road:
Helping Legal Staff Understand the Traffic Patterns of Basic Legal Research
  Gumshoe Librarians
Privacy Law in the Internet Age
  The Telecommuting Librarian
At the Crossroads: The Year 2000 Millennium Bug

And we had two out of three Workshops accepted:
All Systems Are Not Created Equal:
     Integrated Library Systems (Mary Dzurinko)
  Second Generation:
The Advanced Intranet Web Site (McQueen and Associates)

In addition, two programs are going to be incorporated into others that were
proposed:
  The Paperless Court
Patent & Trademark Depository Library Program

Many thanks to Connie and the Washington D.C. committee.

For all of our PLL members who had programs selected, good work, and see you in July!!!

For those of you who missed the deadlines for Washington, please keep the ideas coming. The Philadelphia 2000 Education committee will be happy to receive ideas.
Marlowe Griffiths of Howard Rice in San Francisco (mgriffiths@hrice.com) and
Joanne Dugan of Pierce Atwood in Portland Maine (jdugan@pierceatwood.com) are co-chairs for this committee.
