I applied to and was accepted by Syracuse, and at the last minute,
bailed out of that one and began Illinois' program last summer. I am
more than willing to talk about how it works, what I do, my understanding
of its differences (two of my coworkers are in a more traditional program),
how it's been received by others (I get calls from headhunters...hm.),
and anything else relating to it.

As I already have a professional librarian position, I was unwilling to
give it up to go to school and "start over". Illinois' LEEP program
has allowed me to keep my job and professional activities going, while
undertaking an extremely rigorous set of courses. I am extremely,
extremely satisfied with the program. The skills one needs to succeed in
that program are often the cutting-edge skills coming into play in our
profession. I haven't noticed any stigma - to the contrary, my fellow
students who have graduated have seen it as an asset that distinguishes
them from "traditional" students in an extremely positive light.
I am happy to converse with anyone off-list about the program, via
email or telephone.
