Hello, fellow law-libbers!! Just an observation: for the first quarter of
1997/98, our monthly invoices for maintaining our West publications were:
July, $3,645; August, $6,603; and September, $3,055. This year, our
invoices have been, respectively, $8,017, $8,286, and now $9,461!!! Has
anybody else out there in law-lib land noticed a similar pattern? If so,
does anybody have a logical explanation? I asked a colleague, who thought
that it was because a year ago, we were receiving separate billings for
West, Lawyers Coop (Bancroft-Whitney) and Clark Boardman Callaghan, whereas
this year they are all combined. In checking my records, I may be wrong,
but it seems to me that they were already combined a year ago. Anyway, at
this rate my budget is going to be used up in no time. Jim Sherman, Univ.
of La Verne College of Law Library, Woodland Hills Campus
