Heide,
At Washburn Law Library we recently started a subscription to the
electronic CILP and Smart/CILP. (We still receive one paper copy
which we shelve with our periodical indexes.) To facilitate access
to the electronic CILP, we mount each issue on a protected website as
it is received via e-mail. (You may view our CILP 'homepage' at:
http://washburnlaw.edu/lawlib/cilp/cilp.htm but will be unable to
view individual issues.) We divide each issue into three separate
sections because the issues can be quite large. The sections
correspond to the sections in the print version:
Journals Indexed This Issue
Subject Index
Tables of Contents of Indexed Journals
Templates have been setup to make this pretty much a cut and paste
activity. It takes us 10-15 minutes to convert an issue. Once the new
issue is mounted on the web, we send a notice to the faculty announcing
its availability:
The , 1998 issue of Current Index to Legal Periodicals is now
available at:
http://washburnlaw.edu/lawlib/cilp/issues/1998____cilp.htm
Of course, we fill-in the blanks above as appropriate. Since most
of our faculty use a browser to read their e-mail, all they need to
do is click on the link in the notification message to view the
issue.
Let me know if I can provide more info.
