While working with a researcher, we found the following language describing legislative history notes in the 1944 Deering's California
Probate Code--we thought it humorous (and accurate) and I thought I would share:
"The Legislative History of a code section, as the title implies, indicates its origin, and the mutations it has undergone from the time of its enactment to the date of publication...."
Watch out for mutating statutes and have a nice weekend.
