Naming a Library After a Benefactor

Many libraries have been named for a certain benefactor based usually on a
large donation of money to the institution, university, school, library,
etc.

I wish to know what criteria people are using to make the determination of
naming a library after a person: is it the size of the donation, does it
cover specific parts of a library's budget, is it a percentage of the whole
budget, etc.

Please respond to the list or myself; I will summarize if enough answers.
