ANNOUNCEMENT
==============

"The second release of "A Century of Lawmaking" is now available through the LC American Memory site at http://memory.loc.gov/ammem/amlaw/lawhome.html. The new materials
include the full text and corresponding page images for the 34 volumes
of the Journals of the Continental Congress, 5 volumes of Elliot's
Debates, and 3 volumes of Farrand's Records. This makes a total of 49
volumes now available through the project, covering the time period from
1774-1793.

A feature introduced in this release allows the reader to browse via
the headings in the 3 volumes of the Annals of Congress that went online in the first release. This browse feature gives the user direct access to page images of the Annals without having to input a search term, and also provides an idea of the vocabulary used in the early congressional materials to assist in the formulation of searches for the full text items.

This project was officially released on September 17 in honor of Constitution Day. "
