Chicago, September 30, 1998- The American Association of Law Libraries'
(AALL) monthly magazine, the award-winning AALL Spectrum, has just begun its
third year of publication. To ensure that the form and contents of AALL
Spectrum meet the needs of the Association's members, a reader survey will
be taken this fall.
A random sample of 1000 AALL members will receive the survey questionnaire.
Information is being sought on the general level of reader involvement,
departments and features, topics of interest, design, and advertising.
"We worked hard to create a questionnaire that will give us really useful
information," says Ruth Levor, Chair of the advisory committee responsible
for the editorial direction and policies for the magazine. "We need
feedback from readers about what they're already seeing in AALL Spectrum,
and also what they'd like to see in the future, and we're confident the
survey results will give us what we need to plan effectively, to help make
an already-excellent publication even better."
The survey is being conducted for AALL by Arcola Research Company, based in
Wheaton, Maryland. Arcola is an 11-year-old woman-owned market research
company that specializes in studies of publications and communications.
The American Association of Law Libraries was founded in 1906 to promote and
enhance the value of law libraries to the legal and public communities, to
foster the profession of law librarianship, and to provide leadership in the
field of legal information.
