A year or so ago, I swear I came across an ethics opinion of some sort, it
seems from the ABA, addressing the issue of passing along to clients the
cost of third party services. The heart of the opinion was that such a
procedure was permissable, but added surcharges by the law firm were not.
The costs of LEXIS and WESTLAW were specifically addressed by the opinion.
Does this ring a bell with anybody or am I recalling a particularly vivid
dream? Thanks.
