I am trying to determine the names of the newspapers for publication of
legal notices for two New York addresses. The United States Lawyers
Reference Directory, which lists legal publications by county, shows the
New York Law Journal for both, but I am slightly uncomfortable with this
answer, given that this is a newspaper for the legal community and not
intended for the general populace. Arlene Eis' Legal Researchers Desk
Reference (one of my favorite tools, and worth checking out if you don't
already own it) lists legal publications, but again, they are legal rags
and not newspapers of general circulation.
Perhaps my hesitancy springs from lack of familiarity with this sort of
question. At any rate, I need to know definitively how to determine the
appropriate periodical for publication of legal notices, and would
appreciate any input you may have. Please respond to me privately, and,
if there is interest, I will summarize for the list. Thanks in advance!
