The Annual Meeting Program Selection Committee met this past
weekend in Chicago to review programs and workshops for the
1999 Annual Meeting in Washington, D.C. The committee had
170+ program proposals and 17 workshop proposals to consider. I
believe that the committee made excellent choices and has put
together a very good selection of programs and workshops. We
look forward to sharing the selections with you and hearing your
comments shortly.

Prior to October 1, 1998, everyone who proposed a program and/or
workshop will be contacted and told whether or not his or her
program/workshop was selected as well as why it was or was not
selected. Coordinators of accepted programs and workshops also
will receive at some point the Coordinator's Handbook, which will
include helpful information such as due dates for forms,
descriptions, etc. Other updates will be posted regularly.

Thanks again for your proposals. You made our work both fun and
difficult. I also want to thank the committee members who worked
so hard and diligently.
