The following was forwarded from the UCCRS Editor concerning questions about
the Digest. Thanks to Leslie Ann Forrester of Murphy Sheneman in San
Francisco for pursuing the issue and sending along the message.
_______________
There is no error in the UCC Digest. In 1990 Article 3 was revised. The
sections referred to below by Ms. Calvin are in Revised 3-307. This can be
found in the Digest volume labeled UCC Sections 3-415 to [Rev] 3-605 (two
volumes after the one Ms. Calvin just received). As in the Finding Aids
volume, the entire Revised Article follows the entire Old Article. The Old
Articles are retained because some states may not have adopted them (e.g.,
New York has not adopted Revised Articles 3 & 4), the events at issue may
be governed by prior law, or there may historical interest in seeing what
prior law (and case law) said. The Code is confusing enough without the
revised versions, but we can't do anything about that. If you have any
other questions, feel free to contact me.
