Justine,

We keep all of the material that needs filing in call number order on
a shelf in Technical Services. Our filers take away only what they will
file at that time. That way we can see how much filing needs to be done.
The Serials Assistant is the one who checks in material and puts it on the
shelf; she keeps track of when a title is behind in filing and pulls it
for the filers to work on. We've been doing it this way for years and
find it works fine.
