The Annual Meeting Program Selection Committee thanks all of
you who participated in the program and workshop proposal
process. As I mentioned in an earlier posting, the committee
received 170 propram proposals and 17 workshop proposals.

I thought that you might be interested in the following. In addition
to individual AALL members and other individuals who proposed
programs and workshops, the following submitted proposals -

6 chapters submitted program proposals; 2 chapters proposed 2
programs each; 1 chapter proposed three workshops.

13 of AALL's standing committees, caucuses, working groups, and
task forces proposed programs; 1 committee proposed 4 programs
and another committee proposed 3 programs.

12 of the 13 SISs proposed programs; 1 SIS proposed 17
programs; others proposed as many as 9, 10, 11, & 12; 5 of the
13 SISs proposed workshops with three SISs proposing 2 or more
workshops.

There is considerable variety in the subjects covered in the
proposals. The Committee members and I are reviewing the
proposals now. I can tell you already that it will be an exciting
meeting based on the issues covered in the proposals, the
speakers recommended, the formats proposed; etc.

Proposers will know no later than Oct. 1 if their proposals have
been accepted for the 1999 Annual Meeting in Washington, D.C.

Let me know if you have any questions.
