Re: Food and Drink in the Library

We have taken the option to allow "snack foods" and drinks in "covered
containers." Both of these terms are defined fairly loosely. I tell
students that snack foods can include crackers and sandwiches, but does
not include pizza delivery or boxes of chicken, or other large carryout
orders.

As for drinks I am fairly lenient. The only thing I would really crack
down on would be an open glass or cup of liquid.

Neither food nor drink is permitted around school owned computers,
however.

Our students have been very rresponsible within these broad guidelines.
I ask them to clean up after themselves and report any spills, and we
really haven't had any problems.

Good luck,

Brian-
