[This message has been sent to AALL members and the Law-Lib listserv; please
excuse the duplication]
During the past few days, AALL Executive Staff has received several
inquiries regarding the ADAPT survey which has been mailed to some 1998 AALL
Annual Meeting registrants.
We have been trying to learn who is sponsoring the survey but have been
unable to reach ADAPT executives. It is believed that a company-that may or
may not have exhibited in Anaheim-purchased the registrant list and is using
it to gather information about the attendees, especially those who might
have visited the exhibit area.
Each year, a few copies of the registrant list are sold. Most purchasers
are companies that exhibit and use the list to invite registrants to visit
their booths at the Annual Meeting or to distribute product announcements
tied to the exhibit area. Some firms use the list to send invitations to
sponsored social functions.
Please note that this survey is NOT an AALL-sponsored survey. Since this is
not an AALL survey, the Association did not participate in formulating the
questions nor do we expect to have access to the data. AALL members who
wish to have more information regarding this matter may contact me directly.
Thank you.
Best regards,
