Food and Drink

I once worked for a firm where food was an important part of the firm
culture. There were lots of celebrations and the firm had charge
accounts (for the attorneys) at a lot of different shops in the area.

The library was on a separate floor and on weekends people working in
the library would have their food orders delivered directly to the
library. I began to express my dismay when I would come in on a Monday
and the place would smell like a restaurant dumpster. I was really
upset when I came in one morning and found that one of the book trucks
had been used as a serving table for pizza. An unfinished pizza
remained on a cart. When I tried to remove it (with force) I removed
the pizza, the box and the finish on top of the cart.

The last straw was the matzo ball soup caper. A container of soup was
left at the reference desk over night. When I picked up the container
the bottom stuck to the counter and there was chicken soup, matzo balls
and noodles every where. Disssssgusting!
To everyone's dismay the no food rule went into effect that day. Too
bad - it was just a few slobs who forced the issue.

Today sippy cups and travel lids make drinks OK.
