West Cumulative Invoices

I'd like to add a few more thoughts to those alerady expresssed by
Allison Mays. Our library already has a very large account with West
Group, as well as separate accounts for our three branch libraries. I
heartily second her suggestion to make the invoice titles match the
shipping notices. West's plans to expand the title to 80 characters is
also a wecome idea.

As to alphabetizing the invoice by title, we would rather West not, or
at least give the purchasing institution the option on how they want the
invoice organized. West's recent change to organizing the Cumulative
Monthly Invoices in numerical order by reference number has been greatly
appreciated. Although there are still some exceptions to strict
numerical order on the invoices, this organization much better suits the
needs of our organization.

The idea of referencing order numbers would be welcome too. West alread
sort of does this as an extension of the title, mostly for old CBC
titles. My suggestion would be to provide the order number in a separate
clearly labled field.

As a final offering, I'd like to suggest that West also include the
complete shipping date on the invoice. This would allow us to better
anticipate the cut off date for each Cumulative Monthly Invoice so we
could more accurately schedule our payments in advance of receipt of the
invoice.
