The problem you describe with Premise appears to be true across the board.
I would be interested in knowing if ANY Premise product was up-to-date.
For example, I have complained and inquired for a long time about the
problem with the currency of the New York statutes and regulations. I just
got a disk at the end of July, the first disk this year that had any of the
most recent legislative session included. This means, of course, as you
pointed out, that we have been paying a monthly charge right along for a
product that was unable to be used or relied upon.
Since we know vendors are reading these messages, I would like to see a
statement posted here about West's commitment to Premise and if that
platform is not going to be supported, then I think as a matter of course
there should be a letter to all Premise subscribers offering to convert
current subscriptions to Folio with a credit applied for months/years that
we did not have reliable information in our libraries.
I , for one, will be very sorry to see the demise of Premise. There was a
reason I selected it over Folio in the first place.
