duplication.
Just a heads-up for those of you who subscribe to the ALR's (3d, 4th,
5th and Federal) on Premise cd-rom, from West Group. The problem
apparently does not exist with the LawDesk version of the ALR's. While
doing some research recently, we discovered that the supplementation
for these disks is seriously behind. The May 1998 disk for ALR Federal,
for instance, had annotation supplements which were current only
through October of 1996; the last volume that appeared on the disk was
volume 137, issued in 1996. Likewise, the May 1998 disk for ALR 3d, 4th
and 5th had annotation supplements current only through September of
1996; the most current ALR 5th volume was v. 47, issued in March of
1997.
I spoke with West Group Customer Service, who apparently was
unaware of the problem. A member of the editorial staff assured me that
they would try to have the problem fixed by the August release. I have
not yet heard, however, of any plan which they have to reimburse those
of us who have been paying for quarterly updates which we haven't
been receiving.
Has anyone else noticed the probem? I would be interested in hearing
what response you received. I am waiting to hear back and will keep
you posted.
