laws on non-profit organizations in EU countries

I'm carrying out a research on laws regarding "non-governmental non-profit
organizations"( associations, foundations, social cooperatives, charities,
etc.) in European Union member countries. The purpose of the research is
to compare the legal framework for such organizations in EU countries, with
a special focus on some aspects, such as registration and taxation.
I'm currently trying to find, for each country, the laws and any other
documentation on the subject (studies, articles), possibly in english or
french. I am starting to collect some material (especially on Italy,
Germany and Spain), but the process is more difficult than it could seem,
for various reasons: because rules appying to the non-profit sector are
usually not contained in an organic law text; because each country has its
own different definitions for the organisations which are comprised in this
sector; and lastly because few studies have been done on the subject.
Therefore, I would very grateful to anyone who could suggest a person or
an organisation\reseach institute in their country which could help me find
such documentation.
You can answer at my e-mail : ademaio@idli.org.

           Thank you,
