I often use the same method of truncating an address for alt. pages of a site.
Not all sites are indexed/registered to be found w/ a search engine.
In addition, certain pages of a site are merely search results. IOW, a
search engine could not possibly know what is in a database of a particular
site. I could not give the technical details, but I believe it haas to do w/
a page using cgi-bin... Perhaps someone w/ more techn.knowledge could
re-phrase w/ the correct terminology.
