I am happy to report that we had a very well-attended organizational
meeting of solo librarians at the AALL Annual Meeting in Anaheim. 43
people showed up, with many more coming up to me throughout the course
of the meeting expressing interest in the group.
The first order of business was to find co-chairs for the group, and
Naomi Nagano of Weintraub Genshlea & Sproul in Sacramento and Becky
Davis of A Library Service in Van Nys gratiously volunteered to lead
the group this year. Watch for more information on the One Person Law
Library listserv. Since the majority of the announcements concerning
the group will be posted to that listserv and NOT this one, I urge you
to subscribe if you have any interest in the group.
Though we were having problems with the listserv prior to the annual
meeting, it seems to be working now. Here are new instructions:
Send an e-mail message to listproc@aall.wuacc.edu
leave the subject line blank
in the body of the message, type: subscribe pll-opll-l yourfirstname
yourlastname
(the last character in the name of the list is a small "L", not the
number one...)
You should receive a message back saying you have successfully
subscribed. Please let me know if you have any problems.
