The first annual meeting of the Multilocation Libraries Group
(MLLG) was called to order by Anne Ellis on July 12, 1998, during
AALL convention in Anaheim. Laura J. Hyzy of Hinshaw &
Culbertson (Chicago) volunteered to chair the group, and Druet
Cameron Klugh of Holme Roberts & Owen (Denver) volunteered
to act as secretary.
Among the issues discussed were management in multilocation
libraries, conference attendance and continuing education
concerns among numerous staff, reporting structures within
varying firm cultures, budgets, cataloguing, firm mergers and their
fallout, vendor contracts, training, firm management, opening new
offices and the virtual branch library.
Any and all librarians interested in the issues of multilocation
libraries are invited to share their ideas and join the group.
