Hello:
With the approval of the Acquisitions Committee of AALL/TS-SIS, I have
offered to create a webpage with links to law library collection
development policies available on the Internet. I will create this page
in the next couple of weeks, and let you know when it is available.
We would like to list policies from a broad range of law libraries:
private, court, agency, prison, academic, other. We would also like to
include collection development policy documents for special types of legal
materials, such as government documents.
We think this "virtual collection" of policy documents will provide a
valuable resource for librarians who are creating or revising their
collection policy materials.
We also hope to include a bibliography of useful resources for creating
collection development policy documents for legal collections.
If you would like to have your institution's collection development policy
listed and linked on this page, please send me the title of the policy
document and the URL.
If your institution's policy document is not yet available on the
Internet, we encourage you to see if your institution would be
willing to make it available on a publicly accessible Internet site. If
you run into technical problems with posting your policy document to your
own site, please contact me: we may be able to post your document from
another server.
Thank you very much for your help on this.
