We are trying to verify some information about a new law which was
passed in Puerto Rico last year. We have been told that this new law
requires that employees who work a certain minimum number of hours per
week must be paid for 9 holidays per year, but the LPRA hasn't been
amended to include the new law yet. We have called the PR Labor and
Human Resources Department, and they have faxed us what is supposed to
be documentation of this change in the law, but what we have been faxed
does not seem to address the holiday question at all. If someone could
shed light on this (in English, of course), we (I) would be most
grateful. Please direct any replies to me privately, and not to the
list at large. Thanks for your help!
