This week's article focuses on the Microsoft antitrust litigation.
AUTHOR: Randy Winn
TITLE: The MilleSoft Proposal: Preserving Microsoft's Right to Innovate
URL: http://www.technolawyer.com/technopost/winner5-29-98.html
SYNOPSIS: In this fictional piece inspired by real-life events, the
Department of Justice has Microsoft between a rock and a hard place. A
worried Bill Gates suggests resuming settlement negotiations just two
weeks prior to opening arguments. Antitrust Chief Joel Klein gleefully
accepts the invitation. Thus begins this week's TechnoPost in which Randy
Winn places himself in the shoes of Joel Klein and proposes a resolution
to the Microsoft antitrust litigation that would forever change the face
of the technology industry. By engaging in this fictional role-playing
simulation, Randy challenges the notion that bigger is better when it
comes to a corporation's ability to innovate and change the world.
