At the risk of being skewered:
How 'bout the response suggested to me by a student who had tired of hearing his classmates preface each question with the standard, "This may be a stupid question, but . . . ."
Rather than my standard, "There are no stupid questions," he suggested, "There are no stupid questions, only stupid people who ask questions." :)
Both of us almost busted a gut when someone started a question that way the very next class period. Fortunately, both the asker and the rest of the class had a sense of humor about my explanation of the laughter--and questions were no longer termed "stupid" before they were even asked.
