A particular section of the US Code provides that the section shall take
effect after a notice of a certain appropriation appears in the Federal
Register. The code section came about in late 1983. Another librarian
and myself have searched the years immediately following on our archival
FR microfiche. However, our microfiche only includes an index and list
of sections affected. We find no mention of the notice. I have also
looked at some web sites and not found anything. My question is: does
anyone have a searchable index for this time frame, an index that may be
more detailed than what is on the microfiche version or an archival copy
on cd? My guess is that the last item doesn't exist, at least for the
timeframe I am looking for. BTW, our fiche is the version from GPO.
