The King County Law Library--Seattle Branch is currently seeking
candidates for the position of:
PART-TIME REFERENCE SERVICES LIBRARIAN
General Position Description: Under the supervision of the Law Librarian,
the Patron Access Services Librarian and the Collection Access Services
Librarian: performs reference services activities including reference,
computer and other technology applications. Assists in formulating and
implementing general policies and programs of the library, and performs
related work as required.
Education and Competencies Required: Master's degree in Library Science
from an accredited institution or a Law Degree from an accredited
institution required. Knowledge of current law library service,
organization, procedures, equipment and technologies including library
computer applications to enhance library administration and services is
required. Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communications skills.
Ability to deal effectively with the general public. Ability to plan,
develop, direct, and promote the reference services operations.
Compensation: The Part-time Reference Services Librarian will work on
Saturdays from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm, not to exceed 69 hours per month.
Salary commensurate with experience. All Law Library employees are by
statute employees at will.
The Library: The Seattle branch of the King County Law Library is located
on the sixth floor of the King County Courthouse in downtown Seattle. The
Library serves the legal research needs of the judges, practising bar,
state and local officials and residents of King County. It is open 8:00
am to 9:00 pm, Monday through Friday, and 9:00 am to 6:00 pm on Saturdays.
