I have been asked to determine whether Maryland+s wage and hour
regulations define the term "professional" (since professional employees
are exempt from minimum wage and overtime regulations). COMAR isn+t on
Westlaw or Lexis, and when I called the Maryland Labor, Licensing and
Regulation Department and left a message with my question, I got back a
voicemail message which told me to contact the DOL Wage and Hour
Division in Maryland. I have been trying to reach that office for
several days now and I keep getting a fast busy signal, which indicates
that something is wrong with the telephone (and fax) lines. I was
hoping that someone in Maryland might be able to help me out in my
request.
Since I have had this request for a couple of days now and have obtained
the necessary information for the other states which are within the
scope of our research, Maryland is the last remaining state and the
attorney for whom I am requesting this information is anxious to
complete his project. We are, of course, willing to pay all reasonable
costs associated with this request.
Thanks!
