Greetings! Here's a doozie to end the year! Honest to goodness, I
have an attorney who needs a copy of an old Canadian case that talks
about the tomato being a fruit and not a vegetable. The attorney recalls
that it may have been a Canadian Supreme Court case from the 1800's
that ruled that the tomato is a fruit.
I checked with libraries around here, including a university in Cleveland
that has a pretty extensive Canadian collection, but the case could not be
found. If you have any knowledge about this case or would not mind
taking a few minutes to see if you could find it, I would appreciate your
help. I jumped off law-lib for the holidays, so please reply directly to
my E-mail or call me. Thanks.
Beth
P.S. Would you believe that there was a 1893 US Supreme Court case
ruling that the tomato is a vegetable!
