Hi all,
I just received a letter from Shepards about the December release of the Supreme Court Reporter/Lawyer's Edition CD-ROM. Apparently an error occurred in the manufacturing of the disk, and shepardizing a case from the Supreme Court Reporter part of the database will do strange things to your computer system.
The Lawyer's Edition part is unaffected by the error, but they recommend that we not use the Supreme Court Reporter part. They also sent out the Mid-December discs early. They recommend that we install the new discs as soon as possible and reboot the machine.
I recommend turning off the power on the computer instead of rebooting, as that can take care of more problems than rebooting can. Just wanted to warn the rest of the list in case someone's shipment got held up.
By the way, should we start our messages with "hi all" or with "hi, y'all?"
