Manhattan’s First Department Disciplinary Committee will ask the
Appellate Division, First Department to suspend 839 unregistered lawyers
from the practice of law on October 20, the committee announced today.

The attorneys, whose last names begin with the letters D through H, have
20 days to register if they want to avoid suspension. This is the second
round in the court’s effort to discipline unregistered lawyers. The
court suspended 357 unregistered lawyers, whose last names begin with
the letters A through C, in May. All New York lawyers must register with
the Office of Court Administration every two years.
