Can anyone stand another

"what West has done to me lately" story? If so, I got a good one. I have
a WG&L looseleaf pub - Corporation Forms. Months and months ago, WG&L
screwed up and didn't send me several (4 or 5) supplements. I called my
rep and he said that, since backfiling at that point would be very
difficult at best, they'd send me new contents for the two volumes, free.
Cool. They never showed up, even tho I called my rep several times and he
kept promising me they were in the mail. The last time I called him, he
told me that Corporation Forms is now a West title, and I have to take it
up with them. So I called my inhouse rep in Minnesota, who's actually very
helpful and not on drugs like the rest of them, and she promised to look
into it with her supervisor. Word comes down from the supervisor - sorry,
Ms. Cook, we have no evidence of your having a subscription to that title.
Well, didn't you guys get WG&L's customer account records? Yes, we did,
but this title doesn't show up. Do you have an invoice or check PROVING
that you have a current subscription? If not, you'll have to purchase the
set - it's 450.00.

At that point I blew up, and I don't remember the next few minutes very
clearly. However, I made it clear to the supervissr that, even if my
accounting department could go back and find such a paid invoice or check,
I wouldn't ask them to, on general principle. And no, I won't repurchase
the book that I already own. Ironically enough, the supplements are now
arriving on a regular basis - from someone, somewhere - but they can't be
filed because so much information is missing. I've lost a perfectly good
subscription because West can't seem to transfer information correctly and
they don't trust me when I tell them I have a fully paid subscription.
With all the money that this firm gives West year after year, they're going
to stiff me for $450.00. I wrote a letter, of course. No response as yet.
I've told my Westlaw rep that, until I get satisfaction, I'm not logging
on to Westlaw. I don't care that the book line and the computer line are
separate, I'm not using it until this is settled. Sorry. I'll stop now.
Every time I talk about this I get riled up all over again.
