One of our attorneys has been approached by a Virginia company called
Brief Bank, LLC, requesting his permission to include a copy of a brief he
had authored in the Brief Bank database. Brief Bank, LLC is developing a
research database of legal briefs collected from attorneys and firms
around the country. Brief Bank editors index and abstract each brief
they receive, and include the index, abstract, and full text of the brief in a
searchable database available to subscribers via the Internet.
Does anyone have any information regarding Brief Bank, LLC? Has
anyone had any experience with this or other companies/organizations
which collect firm work product and make it available to subscribers or
members? If so, have your firms found the arrangement to be
advantageous in any way or have the been any problems? I would
appreciate any information you might have.
