Dear Elizabeth:
Welcome to the the List! I've been on the list about three years and your
brief introduction is the first I have seen. This might be the start of some
added charm and civility to this milieu which sometimes may seem brusque
(TIA). However, the list is a wonderful resource and everyone is incredibly
helpful. I've learned everything here from publisher practices to lower case
roman numerials (romanettes). Every now and then there are some sharp
exchanges and even mean-spirited messages - but hey, in a family of over
2,000, there are bound to be some quibbles.
Christopher Noe has prepared a very helpful "unofficial law-lib FAQ. I
haven't seen it posted for some time, but if you need the information, just
drop a line and I'm sure you'll get some helpful feedback.
Don't be afraid to chip in your two cents worth - every one else does. I've
found out that even "newbies" are welcome. Write to me if you feel you need
a list mentor.
Cordially......Alan Dear (back to my coconut tree).
