Our marketing specialist wants to use SIC Codes to classify clients.
(SIC=Standard Industrial Classifications/North American Industry
Classification System).
There's a manual from the GPO. It's also held as a reference in the City
Library. But we don't want to buy SIC if they're about to change it to
NAICS. And the GPO doesn't anwer their phones.
www.sec.gov has SIC codes for each 10-K filed. But this is only for
publicly held companies--besides it takes a long time to download a huge
10-K for a mega-international company just for it's SIC.
I couldn't find just the code numbers on the fedworld site. Seems like
they ought to be somewhere.
Can anyone help? Thank you very much.
