Lap-top computers for remote access:recommendations?

This may be an inappropriate forum, but ...
I'd like to hear from anyone who
has any experience with or the expertise to recommend a lap-top
computer set-up which can be used by an attorney at a remote, satellite
office (Kennewick, WA) to access by phone our network in the main
office which could handle RIA's online OnPoint System 5 Tax program
(formally 7 CDs) and a 4 CD program (CD LAW) with WA cases,
statutes, etc.

Cost is not a major consideration; speed is.
