Let me add to the complaint list.....

We received 4 volumes of Calif. Corp laws, 4th ed. These were not ordered
and the invoice enclosed was to Knapp, Marsh, Jones & Doran in L.A.

We have a form letter stating that we will return these items upon a receipt
of a self-addressed postage paid label and that "If we do not receive a
response within thirty days we will discard or otherwise dispose of these
items pursuant to 39 U.S.C. 3009."

The response from Michie was "We regret that we cannot send labels to return
material (sic). Please send material back to us and include amount of
postage and we will reimburse you." My assistant asked, "what, now?" and my
response was "yuk, yuk - dump them or treat them as a donation."

Alan Dear (back to my coconut tree).

P.S. to K.M.J.& D. Your books are in the Guam Territorial Law Library

Guam ("Where America’s day begins") is a U.S. Territory in the Western
Pacific (above the Equator) just west of the international date line. We are
18 hours ahead of Pacific Standard Time. U.S. postal rates apply (including
4th class library rates). Our library is a federal and Guam tax exempt
non-profit corporation and donations are tax-deductible.
