Chris --

We're in the same boat. Our law library inventory is on SmartTracker Books
which is an inexpensive ($25.00) but comprehensive book program. You can
download a copy of it from ZD Net Software Library at:

        http://www.hotfiles.com/index.html#se

and perform a SEARCH for "SmartTracker Books". Then download the program which
is in "zipped" format. You can modify the headings both in the database and
in the reports. The report capability is very nice too. This program can
accommodate several databases. Along with the library inventory, I have a
subscription database sorted by publisher. There are several "screens" with
which to store library info. There is a cost screen, check in/out screen,
library location and dewey decimal number or any call number. There is at
least 4 keywords in the main library info screen. Search capabilities allow
you to print out the results of the search listing the books that meet a
certain criteria. I prefer SmartTracker over Inmagic.

Our library budget is on Microsoft Access. We have headings under
Category (Revised/Supplement, Subscription, etc.), Publisher, Name of Book,
Subscription Period, 1997 Cost, and 1998 Estimated Cost.

Hope this helps.
