Job Postings

I'm curious to know how those of you who post job openings on the
internet are dealing with the inquiries you receive. Are you responding
to every one or just regarding it as an initial contact to only be
followed up if the inquiry is from a real "potential". If you are
responding to each inquiry, do you also respond to each inquiry when you
post an ad in the New York Times with a blind box number? I don't
usually respond to totally unsolicited resumes, but have been
inconsistent with the ones that have come to me as a result of internet
postings. I know the courteous thing to do would be to respond to
everyone, but there are time and workload considerations here, as I'm
sure there are for everyone.
