I have just received the 1996 Annual Report of the Thomson corporation.
Among other things it indicates that "the first-class West manufacturing
facility will soon absorb all of west Group's printing requirements,
resulting in substantial cost savings." So we can reasonably expect that
CBC pocket parts which now cost 5 to 10 times what West pocket parts cost
will fall to West levels. Surely the savings will be passed on to the
customers?
The Reports also says that "operating profit" for the Thomson Financial
& Professional Publishing Group, of which Westr Group is paart, has
increased from $222 Million in 1995
to $392 Million in 1996, an increase of 76%. Great news for stockholders!
