Seadata is the online version of the Lloyd's Register of Shipping, which
would contain the info you need (photocopies from the hard copy version is
probably accessable from a local firm speicalizing in maritime law). I
found an English library which says they do Seadata searches, and I think
they're affiliated with the University of Warwick. You might want to check
them out: http://www.itf.org.uk/english/itflib.html

If you need any further info, please let me know... I was a maritime law
librarian in my previous life (ie up until 3 months ago) and I miss the
boat stuff a little.

These views are not necessarily those of MetLife.
