The following story may sound all to familiar to many of you.
Once upon a time, we had one subscription to the following
CBC titles:
McQuillin on Municipal Corporations
Fletcher's Cyclopedia of Corporations
Nichols Legal Forms
State and Local Government Civil Rights Liability
Bankruptcy Service.
Now, if the 4 different shipments I have received from West
Group (ironically, the word Group denotes organization) were
correct, I have the following subscriptions:
4 McQuillin on Municipal Corporations
3 Fletcher's Cyclopedia of Corporations
3 Nichols Legal Forms
3 State and Local Government Civil Rights Liability
3 Bankruptcy Service.
It seems they may be shipping from both New York
(ex-CBC?) and Minnesota. It also appears that if they are
shipping different titles together, and one is not available for
shipping, they reship everything they can get their hands on,
and then bills us for them. confusing the issue is the fact
that we used to have a subscription service handle our CBC
titles, which made the already painful transmission even
worse.
This whole situation is pretty pathetic, especially since the
shipping notices in no way match the invoices we receive a
few weeks later.
Like many others, I used to love dealing with the West
customer service, since they were quick and efficient. I
guess words like those have disappeared from the West
Group "dictionary."
As far as the price increases are concerned, that would call
for another soapbox.
Lately, I have been feeling like a character in an ancient
Greek tragedy...
