To put aside the emotion - stalkers have been around alot longer than
technology...
The truly "bad" people will : 1) hunt you down regardless
                            2) Always misuse benign things to unsettle your
trust
                            3) Make your life miserable in much more subtle
ways...
                            4) Want you to avoid technology - they hate it
too - it exposes them -
they prefer that such info. be hidden...
those w/ illegal intent can hide better when
it's too hard to track them... ie. those privacy-loving child
pornographers- they certainly don't want you to find THEIR address.... &
they were finding our kids long before the
internet.... they love "secrets" but hate
everything out in the daylight...
(in fact child pornographers have had private
BBs before the WWW - they would love for that to catch on again because
it's harder for police to catch them.)
I always wonder when someone someone demands so much "privacy" -
what do they need to "hide"??
Just my HO..
Karen
