Several weeks ago I asked for Library Week Suggestions. Many Thanks to
those of you that responded. I also had several requests to summaries
the ideas I received so here are some of them:

* Sponsor a quiz based on true facts about attorneys or managers in the
Firm (e.g. First Job Quiz, where people have to match the description of
someone's first-ever paying job with the correct attorney or manager
name).

* Show a tape of a Perry Mason episode in a conference room-serve
hot popcorn and soda.

* Give secretaries a tour of the library-pointing out reference items
of interest.

* One firm is using the theme "The Law of Fun & Games" -- They are
going to have a Casino Gambling day featuring a theme-related word
search puzzle, a rented roulette wheel and a pathfinder for doing gaming
research! They are having a "TV & The Law" day, focusing on all the
great (and not-so-great) programs that have feature law-related
scenarios or characters, and they are having Tax Games on the 15th.
Sound like fun!

* Wine and Cheese event. Demo CD-Rom products and share useful and fun
internet cites during this event.

* Guess the weight of the Martindale Hubbell, Legal crossword puzzles.

* Chicken Law (you'll find alot) and chicken recipes.

Everyone agrees that food is must!

Here's what we have planned in our Library:

These events are open to everyone, attorneys, paralegals, secretaries,
accouting, housekeeping, MIS, etc...

* Legal Trivia-using the idea above matching firm members to their
first paying job.

* "Who's That Baby" - we have asked for everyone to send us their
unlabeled baby pictures (under the age of 5). Each picture will be
assigned a number. A board will be made to display the photos, and a
list of names will be provided (5 more names then pictures). People
will be asked to match the name to the picture - This is alot of fun!

* Tax game - gold chocolate coins will be scattered throughout the
library just in case someone comes up short!

* Lexis is hosting a fun computer quiz, Westlaw is hosting a lunch
seminar for our paralegals.

* We have a wine & cheese event planned.
* We are also having a New or Used Book drive. We are asking for folks
to donate childrens books, coloring books and crayons and magazines for
women. We will be donating them to a local chapter for abused women and
their children.

Lots of food and fun!

Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions about these
events.

Enjoy and have fun!
