Okay, I have two beefs this afternoon and wondered if anyone could relate:
1) John Wiley & Sons has this habit of taping the invoice to the box. It
the course of trying to gently remove the tape, all of the invoice number,
account number, isbn number, invoice date, etc. information was stripped away
with the tape (gone with the tape?) Now I will have to call and try to get
them to read me the information.
2) Aspen Publishers sent me a dunning notice.
2a) The notice was dated 3/16/97 and arrived today 3/24/97.
2b) The notice only gave the date, invoice number, po number and amount of
the "overdue". No title of the set, book or whatever to help me narrow it
down.
2c) When I finally figured out *which* supplement it was referring to, I
noticed that the supplement was not received until February 18, 1997, even
though the invoice was dated 1/31/97.
2d) Notice that I did not even have an opportunity to rush the invoice to
Accounting until nearly three (3) weeks AFTER the invoice was dated.
Am I suprised? No. I'm just peeved that a) invoices arrive in poor shape (J
Wiley) and that b) invoice/supplements arrive up to three weeks after the
ship date (Aspen).
I welcome the publishers to reply to the entire list.
