Is this timing related to the fact that Judge Friedman just signed
off on the consent decree?
Considering that the Lawyers Cooperative printing facility in Webster
NY has already been shut down and there are recurrent rumours as to
riffs at LCP in Rochester and transfers to Minnesota etc., one
wonders even more how NY Attorney General Vacco is going to explain
to his constituents why his office did so little [nothing] to protect
not only NY consumers of legal information and NY producers or
information, but employees as well.
I will note also at the February 6, 1997, hearing in the West Thomson
merger, an assistant AG for NY not only weakly urged the judge to
approve the merger, but refused to talk to me (HyperLaw) and then
went waltzing out of the courtroom chatting with West counsel Jim
Schatz.

The is a short blurb in today's New York Law Journal regarding the
closing of a West Group's Westbury, Long Island, NY facility. The
article
says the jobs are moving to Eagan, MN or Rochester, NY and the
employees have a choice of moving.
Any thoughts?
