Subject: Need Library Week ideas! -Reply
I am responding to the list on this one because I think many people may
be interested in this topic.
I usually start the week off with a cake and send a message out to the
whole firm. Next to the cake, I usually put out some sort of guessing
game (how many jelly beans in the jar) or a name drawing and open it up
to the whole firm. The prize can be anything...gift certificate to a
bookstore or to a restaurant etc... The drawing is later in the week and
they can enter as many times as they like. Everyone buzzes about this
for days!
I have also heard of a contest matching partners with their favorite
books. You could also do a treasure hunt using books and the internet.
My favorite idea was submitted to the list last year by Sara Uehlein and
Erika Howder. They provided a recipie for fortune cookies with library
related sayings.
Good luck!

I am looking ahead to April and Library Week. Can anyone offer any
interesting ideas that my library can use during this week? I have done
things in the past at previous firms with food and Lexis and Westlaw,
but find that alittle dull however-the food brings out alot of folks!
I work in a law library and would appreciate any FUN ideas! I would
also like to make this a firm wide event, and include the secretaries
and other support staff.
Thank You
